Tylosine 10% is used for treatment of bronchial infections
Respiratory diseases (Mycoplasma, Pneumonia) are the single greatest cause for death amongst raptors. The bird increases respiratory rate and looks obviously distressed, loses rapidly appetite and has nasal discharge.
Tylosine is used for the treatment of bronchial infections caused by gram-positive bacteria, mycoplasma, pseudomonas organism and bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract. Tylosine Infection Mix is frequently administered even to animals with virus infections. These birds are usually in a weakened condition and suffer from reduced resistance, which makes them particularly susceptible to other causes of illness (bacteria, mycoplasma, pneumonia). Treatment with such drugs as Tylosine is often necessary to suppress accompanying bacterial infections so that the bird has a chance to recover from the effects of the virus.
Tylosine dissolves readily in water and is absorbed easily.
